you know, i don't think i have ever done a proper hellboy picture in all my years of posting stupid pictures on the internet. well, one that i liked anyway. so bam, there it is, complete with an enormous cow skull.

this week's art challenge thing was something to do with woods or trees. all i could think of was Woodman from megaman 2 and his retarded leaf shield.

i played the crap out of megaman 2 back in "the day." i dunno about you guys but i think any megaman post 8bit blue bomber is lame looking. but oh god the american box art for the megaman series aaaaa

for the zelda art exchange thing. this is pretty much how i remember the original zelda, with its badass shinny gold cart. well, really the darknuts were a bigger pain since you could only stab them in the ass, but i wanted to draw a skeleton.

i also remember the zelda half of nintendo cereal tasted better than the mario half. but not good enough to ever ask for that horrible shit again.

i was in a 4-paneling king of mood this weekend so here are some four panel comics.

so this takes a bit of explaination. i have been playing a lot of the new-ish version of the original Final Fantasy Tactics since FFTA and FFTA2 are bullshit babies getting sucked into magical books. i bought a stupid PSP specifically for the updated FFT, that has a new job, which is "Dark Knight." and of course the new batman movie (which is very good) being Dark Knight... and i was tired... sooooooo... hmm. yeah, i am a dork.

the weekly art challenge this week is "view from a window." when i was trying to think of just what the hell i was going to do for that, some cowboy bebop song surfaced on my itunes and i was reminded of exploding gothic cathedral windows and dis-grenades.



a few people have been asking me about what photshop brush i use that has that kind of chalky, chunky texture. it is a brush that i downloaded a forever ago from this gentleman's site. it has a texture overlay built into it. he also has some pretty cool textures you can download, also.

the theme of this week's art challenge was "fun in the sun." no one has more fun in the sun than riddick.

this is a self portrait i did for the Wekly Art Challenge that catherine and some peeps set up. the first round was a self portrait. obviously. so there is that.

also, the hams and i have been watching old x-files episodes, so clearly it was time for a four-panel comic. about x-files.



oh man, the hams and my sister and i went and saw WANTED over the weekend. you know, the movie where couch-lips curves bullets by using a really fast heart rate. that movie, holy shit. it is was like someone watched lucky number sleven, fight club, and equalibrium back to back, got a huge boner, and rolled said boner across a typewriter. Okay, so, ancient order of assassins called the fraternity, gotcha. the members can curve bullets and use strange french dueling pistols with fancey bullets for curving. sure. but they take orders from a magical LOOM OF FATE that.. uh.. weaves in binary code. no!

this whole tokyopop manga pilot contract this that has been outraging and enraging the internet this week is like watching two trains slam together. like, circus trains filled with clowns and their clown buddies. it's kind of amusing but mostly horrifying, all at the same time. i bet whoever made the decision to write a legal contract in "whattap bitches do like like MANGA i sure as shit do" kind of language is probably wishing they had not done that.

man. tokyopop. this whole thing surfacing just make me feel like a big idiot, but that is okay. you should probably feel like an idiot sometimes.

i randomly saw the old indiana jones and the temple of doom theatrical poster the other day and thought of shortround and now what if luke was shortround and... yeah. if you google it i am sure you can find what the actual poster looks like without ridiculously english puzzle solving maniacs on it.

i like how luke came out all feral. luke is a punk.

i thought i had more to say, or at least something to say, but i guess not so much. i think i will go run some dudes over in GTA 4 now.

anyone picked up Professor Layton for the DS? It is pretty cool. I dig the art style they used in it a ton.

A couple weeks ago I helped my sister move out east from Albaquerque, New Mexico. She drove a Budget Rent-A-Box and i drove her car. I haven't really driven a car in a year in a half or so, so that was one way to get back into it - i think it was around 1900 or 2000 miles, through New Mexico, Northern Texas, the frozen wastes of Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee (Tennessee, you state is too wide and goes on forever, what the hell dudes), and Vriginia. My Favorite picture from the entire trip is this one:



that was taken is a waffle house in Amarillo, Texas. It is kind of the total Waffle House experience. It snowed that day in Texas, quite a bit. Wtf, Texas.

okay after this there will be no more His Dark Materials stuff, i promise, since now i have one for each book. this is from The Subtle Knife.

i slapped all three of them together, for my own lol's, but if you care that is here, since it is huge.

so this one was inspired by this song I happened to be listening to at the time, called "Indoor Swimming At The Space Station" by Eluvium. It is a pretty literal kind of thing, i suppose, but man, i really felt like drawing a space suit, you know? Anyway, the album it is from is called Copia and it is awesome. Unless you are not so into ambient, instrumental music, then you might be all like "this is a real snoozer".

I was an astronaut for Holloween in second grade. it was cold and rainy outside so i had to wear a coat over my space-suit, but the marker used to write my name on the little astro-nametag on the chest ran anyway. i still felt pretty bad ass though, i remember.
