Sparkwood & Twenty-One

so i guess i'm kinda done with livejournal, my bros. it just dosen't quite do what i want it to at the moment. Not that i post a whole lot, but i've been working on a bunch of stuff.

but i made a new blog on that tumblr thing which seems to work well and is not as fugly as the LJ UI. To entice you i've put a small image of a poster i made on the site.

i have a new 18" x 24" poster at the printer. they are legit screenprints which is super exciting. there are not a whole lot of them. they will not get me issued slaps on the wrist from george lucas. i'm pretty "stoked."

does anyone even use livejournal anymore? i can't even tell with the crazy kids and their freestyle internetting these days.

If you were hoping for a larger size of these, I'm thinking of looking into getting a limited run of some offset prints made of all three of them together. We'll see how expensive it ends up being!

Man, I actaully saw the giant squid corpse that Japanese guy caught a while back. They have it in this big tank at the Smithsonian's Natural history Museum. The sea is a horrible place.

I put this up as a print at my store-thing if you just don't have enough nautical-themed pictures in your bathroom.

Also, I went to the National portrait Gallery over the weekend and drew some busts like it was art school all over again. I liked these two dudes, despite discovering I had completely forgotten how to draw.



andrew jackson and his DBZ hair is just done in pencil. the dude who is buggin' right the hell out is john d. rockefeller, and that one was done with markers. And if you have a hard time believing that someone would sculpt something making that expression, i assure you he is really just bugging out that hard.

i had some stuff to scan today and my scanner died. go fig.

i drew this on some backing board today while i was running off a print. i drew it in like 3 seconds hardly thinking about it and kind of love it. it cracks me up.



of course i can't replicate it when i actually try because that is how these things work. i'm sure it looks like baby drawings to everyone else, but there is... i dunno. hard to explain. anyway, if you ordered a print today there is a Link I really like on your backing board. >:O

So yeah, I had this terrible idea to do an illustration for every single original star trek episode and decided to give this big-fat-coloringbook-baby-line style a go on it. i can't tell if i like it or not yet, but it is a start.
