FCBD came and went and i saw a few mentionings of Griggs floating about on the interwebs. some good, some bad. i saw it called a "scott pilgrim knock-off", which kind of blew my mind.

anyway, i updated fearlessgriggs.com and have put the "griggs mini" (which is chapter one and one half) that was at SPX online for people to download and stuff. So if you would like 24 more pages of free griggs then click here with all your might and maybe the internet will shoot lasers at you - lasers made of comics.

Wow, that's an odd comparison to make. I don't get that at all. Both good books, but... huh?

I bought the Fearless Griggs mini from you at SPX, and I can't wait for the full book. I thought it was very well done. I heard from a friend that you're moving to the D.C. metro area. True?

Yes, it is in fact hugging Mt. Dew. I have my needs, so don't judge me.

How the hell did they get to call Fearless Griggs a Scott Pilgrim knock off? I mean... it's so different... artwise and storywise...

I think I saw that comment too. I do not understand. Anyway, I guess it's difficult to get a deep feel for the story in eight pages or whatever, so of course people are going to think it's superficial or something. Plus they don't know that we both drew our free comics in like two days.

Well I personally thought it was awesome. Griggs is obviously a major badass of which the likes have never been seen before.

I'll be doing my best to spread the Fearless Griggs word, bro. There was so much good in those few pages. Now armed with a link to pages, I will be an unstoppable juggernaut of promotion for your book.

The problem is, my efforts were probably more "bitch" than "juggernaut." I posted about it on my own journal where my small band of readers will probably be interested, on the Bendis board where no one cares about good comics, the Robert Kirkman's message board where...meh, and the Awful Forums where it probably got the most exposure, and where they already know you for Buttlord. So...meh, overall. My powers are meager, but I do what I can.

Yeah, okay, I can see how someone would make the Pilgrim/Griggs comparison. I mean a 112 year old adventurer is TOTALLY like a college rocker dude who dates high school dudettes.

I said it when I read the print version, but I'll say it again: Griggs is just a damned enjoyable read.

i admit that i have not read the FCBD story yet, sir, but i promise that i will. i've been horribly busy finishing a story lately and have not had the time.

i do, however, plan to read it tonight before i go to bed. and now that i've downloaded Chapter 1 1/2, i'll add that to the list.

Oh cool! The FCBD story was really too short. But I guess since I clicked on your link (or Mal's) it did what it was supposed to?
Maybe the person who made that comment didn't really look at the book but just saw the title and was like "it's another one of those over the top titles, they all got that from Scott pilgrim with all its precious little fighting the world and infinite sadness!" but it was really just them lashing out because they keep getting teased at school because of their abnormously small head and secretly want to be a comic artist and work for oni press.

Yeah I totally janked it off your website, and use it for my icon on AIM/MSN/LJ and shit now. I find it highly amusing (since my handle after LeiLei was "Neko-LeiLei" when I went through my 'animu-fag' phase.) Now I just find it hilariously awesome.

Oh man, you're a bloody genius. <333 It's too bad I can't read like, half the dialogue because my monitor is severely messed up at the moment.

What little I could read, though, was like eating bacon cheesecake.
