so i guess i'm kinda done with livejournal, my bros. it just dosen't quite do what i want it to at the moment. Not that i post a whole lot, but i've been working on a bunch of stuff.

but i made a new blog on that tumblr thing which seems to work well and is not as fugly as the LJ UI. To entice you i've put a small image of a poster i made on the site.

oh whoops. hey livejournal.

i have a new 18" x 24" poster at the printer. they are legit screenprints which is super exciting. there are not a whole lot of them. they will not get me issued slaps on the wrist from george lucas. i'm pretty "stoked."

does anyone even use livejournal anymore? i can't even tell with the crazy kids and their freestyle internetting these days.

it's up as a set of 3 or individual prints.

If you were hoping for a larger size of these, I'm thinking of looking into getting a limited run of some offset prints made of all three of them together. We'll see how expensive it ends up being!

Man, I actaully saw the giant squid corpse that Japanese guy caught a while back. They have it in this big tank at the Smithsonian's Natural history Museum. The sea is a horrible place.

I put this up as a print at my store-thing if you just don't have enough nautical-themed pictures in your bathroom.

Also, I went to the National portrait Gallery over the weekend and drew some busts like it was art school all over again. I liked these two dudes, despite discovering I had completely forgotten how to draw.

andrew jackson and his DBZ hair is just done in pencil. the dude who is buggin' right the hell out is john d. rockefeller, and that one was done with markers. And if you have a hard time believing that someone would sculpt something making that expression, i assure you he is really just bugging out that hard.

i drew this on some backing board today while i was running off a print. i drew it in like 3 seconds hardly thinking about it and kind of love it. it cracks me up.

of course i can't replicate it when i actually try because that is how these things work. i'm sure it looks like baby drawings to everyone else, but there is... i dunno. hard to explain. anyway, if you ordered a print today there is a Link I really like on your backing board. >:O

So yeah, I had this terrible idea to do an illustration for every single original star trek episode and decided to give this big-fat-coloringbook-baby-line style a go on it. i can't tell if i like it or not yet, but it is a start.

look out mans, it is a trap! she's sucking your salts out! i like how in this episode Spock just hauls off and starts double-fist-blasting McCoy's dead ex-girlfriend in the face, just to make a point!

some friends of mine have these throw pillows that they have peeps draw stuff on (which is a pretty neat idea). So they asked me to draw "something hilarious" on one of them. Can you guess which one i did?

So a dude emailed me if i still had all the pages of Stinkykick, which was a comic that I made in college to annoy a dude (interestingly enough, it was the same dude who inspired me to draw the original Buttlord comic because that annoyed him even more - if i remember right he had a wallscroll of Trunks - yeah that's right, a wallscroll). So I dug around and found them. They are all 200 shades of terrible. I did like this page though.

was kinda of bummin' about some stuff so i ended up digging through old files tonight and found some junk. let me show you some junk.

a buncha' months ago i decided i was going to parody Jurassic Park. Like, the entire movie. I made one page, which is not an entire movie. So here's that.

The reason I gave up (aside from it being a terrible idea) was that I then had what I thought was the even more terrible idea to do a pardoy of the Twilight movie. No, i don't know either. I think I thought it was "topical." Yeah. Besides, making fun of twilight is redundant. So I made one page of that. It was called "Morning Wood." I know, right? So wacky. Here's the only panel I liked from that page.

what more can you say, really.

anyway, then I opened a really huge photoshop document and decided to draw a bunch of whatevers and this happened.

and i'm not even finished! I ran across a picture i really liked of Neko Case and drew this but quick!

sorry if you saw this before, but it was kindly pointed out that I am an idiot and spelled Tranquility wrong. So here it is not missing an "i". It is in the store as an 8.5x11 at the moment, and as soon as my poster-mailing-tubes arrive, it will be a 13x19 print as well.

Also, anyone who was nice enough to order something already as of this moment in time, your order has been dropped in the mail either today or yesterday, so hooray.

drawing a Jonny Quest picture that I didn't totally hate has been a deeply personal battle for like the last eight years. I actually like this one. Finally. I was gonna throw Dr. Zin and Jade in there somewhere, but I could taste victory so I totally chickened out.

gonna throw this thing up in my store in case anyone else has the Jonny Quest theme song stuck in their head too.

welp, i guess it is go time for prints, dudes. i've set up an etsy store for this whole endevour, so... yeah. I'm not pro at this whole self-promotion thing, obviously, but there it is, for you to click on if you're so inclined. feel free to tell your bros about it too if they have... similar purchasing habits?

If you are curious, I'm printing these things myself. I have an Epson StylusPro 3880 and it is a total beast of a printer.

i now have the market cornered on comics about the Human Target tv show. when this becomes the in thing for the internet's intellectual base to do via hot, hip and viral social media hubs you will be like "i got in on the ground floor, baby."

this show is like watching the A-Team glued to MacGuyver, and the glue is somehow distilled from pure cliche. i am imagining it took a lot of science to perfect. the hams and i (soon to be The Hams +1) have been watching it as it has survived our brutal shit-tv-vetting system: as in yes, it is just the right kind of shit.

see also: James Cameron's Dark Angel, La Femme Nikita, Legend of the Seeker, and the first season of Sanctuary (before they killed off the Human Wig).

PROLOGUE:

So Pies (who you may remember as The Guy Who Never Did His Part of Space Barbarian) and I were talking the other day about webcomics, which we do quite a bit. We came to the realization that "comics about cats with a reaction-face punchline" would pretty but be the Ultimate Comic. I warn you that these are pretty in-jokey, so read at your own risk.

So Pies hit me with this MS paint comic about me and my (new-ish) cat, Turks.

And I've responded with a comic about Pies and his cat, who probably has another name but I only know through Pies' description as "Smash-Cat," for reasons you can probably imagine.
